Our poise at Tilda Goes Green Foundation is to alleviate the plight of the Niger Delta Region by enabling a sustainable developmental stride for our environment, our health and our future, with eco-actions for one Eco-citizen at a time, one Eco-community at a time, one Eco-city at a time and one Eco-state at a time.

HISTORY

Tilda Goes Green (TGG) is a non-governmental organization registered in 2018 and founded on social capital development initiative for green economy in the Niger Delta in particular and Africa at large. TGG ponders on the age of climate change upon humanity and resolved that it will no longer be business as usual. From flash floods to hurricanes in the south, to roaring desertification in the North, the world is struggling to find a new sense of humanity. Hence, Tilda Goes Green (TGG), founded by Matilda Gogo Lambert is born as a sustainable development goal program to green the creeks of the Niger Delta by using one Eco-citizen at a time.

Today, with global annual temperatures approaching 2-degree celsius and carbon emissions at 300parts per-million (PPM), the Eco-Systems has been compromised. As a result, nature is constantly losing her abilities to regenerate at the rate of human activities, leaving millions of people to face natural disaster, health epidemics and fast-growing humanitarian crises across vulnerable communities in the Niger Delta region.

At the heart of the climate change conversation is the need to mitigate and to create adaptive strategies through action that profit the Planet. The Greenhouse gases being spewed into the atmosphere by our everyday actions and inactions is quite worrisome. It is true that the journey to create a sustainable Eco-Communities has been debated by the best and brightest of academics, supported by the United Nations SDG-Policy Position but the abject lack of political will has left the creek-people vulnerable to the claws of climate change. We are now faced with the crude fumes of gas, flared with reckless abandonment and the incessant oil spillages that decimate Riverian livelihoods to economic waste lands. As a result, the third largest wetlands have strived to survive greenhouse holocaust forced on her by the Petroleum Corporations at the expense of Niger Delta Villages, from ANDONI to ODI, BENIBOYE to ALAKIRI, KWALE to IRRI/OKPAI, EKET to OGONI, UYO to BAKASSI ETC.

Therefore, with the growing challenges of the climate change in our Region, TILDA GOES GREEN FOUNDATION is driven and committed to creating a Green Economy for the next generations of the Niger Delta by securing a future founded on its Progressive 12 Goal agendas which includes; Eco-Education, Eco-Innovation, Eco-Culture, Eco-Villages, Eco-lifestyles, Eco-Sence, Eco-Reel, Eco-Fashion, Eco-Tourism, Eco-Business, Eco-Heritage and Eco-Justice.

These goals have their symbolic attributes to green the creeks of the Niger Delta region in the form of environmental protection, self-reliance, independence and sustainability.
