TILDA GOES GREEN 12 GOALS AGENDA:
ECO-EDUCATION:
This is a TGG program where we educate the youth of the Niger Delta on the value of education and the eco-system, awareness and sensitivity to the environment and environmental challenges. This Goal helps at equipping people with the knowledge, attitudes, skills and motivation that they need to help resolve Environmental issues. This includes not only the physical and biological characters of the Environment, but also the cultural and social factors and the impact of man on the Environment.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
With the Eco-Education Goal of TGG, we support and educate the less privileged, and other youths who can’t afford it through scholarship, varying from primary to secondary schools.
ECO-INNOVATION:
This is the Goal that sensitizes the youths on the development of products and processes that contribute to sustainable development, applying the commercial application of knowledge to elicit direct or indirect ecological improvements. This goal results in reducing emissions and wastes. Examples includes, renewable energy sources, energy recovery from solid wates, fertilizer production from wastewater, eco products etc. It’s mostly based on recycling, from extraction of raw materials through material processing, manufacturing, distribution, use, repair and maintenance to disposal or re-use. This approach can help small and medium sized enterprises to access new and expanding markets, increase productivity, attract new investments into businesses, increase profitability across the chain value and help them stay ahead of regulations and standards. Through Eco -Innovation, the youths will be able to create value for themselves, family, business, Environment and society in general.
ECO-CULTURE:
This is the interplay between the human culture and the environment that it’s exists in, including but not limited to the challenges of regaining and retaining this connection through means such as sustainable development. This Goal acknowledges the interdependence of life systems and explores various types of communication that acts as mediators. Culture, alongside economic factors is probably one of the most important environmental variables to consider in global marketing. The Niger Delta has a rich cultural heritage and lifestyles that cannot be overlooked.
ECO-VILLAGES:
We reach out to those in the rural parts of the Niger Delta. We enlightenment them on a healthy and
clean environment more importantly we help to meet some of their basic needs like food, clothing, drinkable water etc. so they know that they are not left alone.
ECO LIFESTYLES:
This is a TGG program basically to enlighten the youth of the Niger Delta, on how to keep their environments clean, green, secure and away from sickness, water born diseases, illness etc. And most importantly, to make it a lifestyle because a neat environment is a gate way to a healthy lifestyle.
Air/Environmental pollution, oil spillages and environmental degradation has become the order of the day, and these are harmful to our lives. Having an Eco-lifestyle is about living your life in a more environmentally friendly way. This is the TGG GOAL where we sensitize people on Environmental Pollution and it’s demerits, through Environmental program tagged “KNOW YOUR ENVIRONMENTS. Proper use of Wastes bins and wastes disposals, importance of greening their environments, by planting flowers and taking good care of them.
ECO SENSE:
This is a program to create and educate people about their environment, the sickness and health hazards that can destroy them if they do not have the knowledge of it. It is also a radio program with the sole purpose of reaching a larger amount of people; where we ask certain environmental questions and give out gifts.
ECO-REEL:
This is a documentary on how we have affected the life of people in the Niger Delta. It is also involve loads of entertainment, music, comedy, dance.
ECO-FASHION:
This involves organization of fashion shows to display the beauty of the cultural attire of the Niger Delta people and also a means by which established and upcoming designers in the Niger Delta can come together and display their designs.
ECO-TOURISM:
This is the TGG Goal that teaches the people the different and exotic Environments without causing Environmental harm or damage associated with tourism. This is basically, how to minimize the impact brought about tourism on the Environment. Also, to sensitize and appreciates the local cultures and biodiversity, sustainable benefits to local communities and participation in decision making. The idea is to focus on uniting conservation, communities and sustainable development through the means of travel and exhibitions. The term ECO-TOURISM was coined by Mexican architect-turned environmentalist “HECTOR CEBALLOS-LASCURIAN” to mean Traveling to undisturbed areas in order to enjoy their natural beauty and culture.
ECO-BUSINESS:
With the Eco Business Goal, TGG is poised to create self-independence awareness on the indigenes of the Niger Delta. This entails the usefulness of self-reliance, sustainability and business opportunities to the youth by empowering them in learning a skill in different fields through SKILL ACQUISITION.
These skills include: Makeup, Fish Farming, Snail Farming, GSM Repairs, Hat/Gele Making, Fashion Designing, Hair Dressing/Cutting, Automobile Mechanics etc. In learning a skill or being independent, will make them to be responsible and become useful to both their families, state and the world at large.
ECO-HERITAGE:
In this seminar, we take you back to the history, culture, tradition of the Niger Delta that has existed for many years.
ECO JUSTICE:
This is a body set up to enlighten the youth on not just the rights and duties as citizens; but also, on the best way to relate their problems to the government rather than retorting to violent acts.
